About the Austin Crows
Based in Austin, TX, the Austin Footy group is a group of Australians and Americans trying to grow the game of Australian Football in the USA. Footy in Austin has been around for nearly 10 years, but over the last 2 years we have seen a rapid increase in the number of players who proudly call themselves members of the Austin Crows. Hailing predominantly from the US, but including a good number of Aussies and an assortment of other nationalities, and from sporting backgrounds as varied as the countries we call home, many Austinites are falling in love with the sport of Australian Rules Football.
The Aussie Rules movement has been growing in Austin since 2007, and is now represented by over 40 players who play and train in downtown Austin. The team that is made up of a 50/50 mix of
Australians and Americans has competed in the last three Nationals tournaments, which sees 36 teams from around the country compete each October to be crowned the National Champion. Austin has
had great success in the last three years competing in the finals of the event, and this year taking out the National Division 3 title.
